Koreanische Hautpflege, einfach erklärt: Was du wirklich brauchst
Vergiss den Mythos der Zehn-Schritte-Routine. Eine gute K-Beauty-Routine lässt sich auf wenige sinnvolle Schritte reduzieren: reinigen, Feuchtigkeit spenden, gezielt pflegen und schützen.

Korean skincare is often reduced to a ten-step checklist. We prefer a simpler idea: build a routine your skin actually needs, layer from light to rich, and keep the steps you will use consistently.
The appeal of K-beauty is not really the number of products. It is the attention to gentle cleansing, hydration, layering, targeted treatment and daily sun protection. You can borrow that logic without turning your bathroom shelf into a laboratory.
The routine in one sentence
Cleanse → hydrate → treat → moisturise → protect.
That is the backbone. Toner pads, essences, ampoules, eye treatments and masks can be added when they solve a real need. They are optional, not entry requirements.
Morning: keep it light
1. Cleanse — or simply rinse
If your skin feels comfortable in the morning, a splash of lukewarm water may be enough. If you wake up oily or prefer a fresh start, use a gentle cleanser. The goal is clean skin without leaving it tight or stripped.
2. Add one hydration layer
A toner or essence can be useful here, especially for dehydrated or dull-looking skin. Think of it as preparation rather than a mandatory ceremony.
The Numbuzin No.9 NAD+ PDRN Glow Boosting Toner, for example, sits neatly in this slot because it is lightweight enough to layer before serum or moisturiser.
3. Use a targeted treatment only if you need one
This might be a brightening serum, an eye treatment, a calming step or something focused on texture. You do not need three serums because three concerns exist.
Choose your priority and give the product time to earn its place.
4. Moisturise
Moisturiser helps support skin comfort and reduce water loss. Texture matters more than geography: gel-cream, lotion or richer cream depending on your skin and the season.
And yes, a Korean treatment routine can finish with a European moisturiser. Good skincare does not need a passport stamp.
5. Sunscreen
For daytime, finish with a broad-spectrum sunscreen of SPF 30 or higher. This is the step we would protect before adding another essence, tool or trend product.
Evening: cleanse properly, then edit
1. First cleanse when you wear sunscreen or makeup
An oil cleanser is useful for dissolving makeup, sunscreen and oil-based buildup before your water-based cleanse.
The Biodance Collagen Cleansing Oil is exactly this kind of product: massage onto dry skin, emulsify with water, rinse, then follow with a second cleanser if needed.
2. Second cleanse
A gentle water-based cleanser finishes the job. Double cleansing is useful when there is something substantial to remove; it does not need to become an endurance sport.
3. Toner, pads or essence — choose one lane
If you love the feel of a hydrating toner, use it. If you prefer something tactile, toner pads can combine skin prep with a short targeted mask moment.
Biodance Collagen Gel Toner Pads are a good example: quick enough for daily use, but still more ritual-led than simply splashing toner into your hands.
4. Treatment
This is where serums, ampoules, retinoids or concern-led products belong. Apply the product that matters most to your routine rather than stacking every active you own.
If you are adding a new active, especially something potentially irritating, introduce it gradually and pay attention to how your skin responds.
5. Moisturiser
Seal the routine with a moisturiser appropriate for your skin. On drier nights, this can be richer; in warmer weather or for oilier skin, a lighter formula may feel better.
Where do masks fit?
Masks are the extra, not the foundation.
A hydrogel or overnight mask can be a beautiful weekly ritual when your skin feels dehydrated, dull or simply in need of a slower night. But it should sit on top of a sensible daily routine rather than replace one.
The Biodance Real Deep Mask family fits that role well: Bio-Collagen for a plump, glossy hydration ritual; Hydro Cera-nol when skin feels dry or depleted; Radiant Vita for a brighter-looking finish; and Sea Kelp when you want something fresher and calming.
Do you need ten steps?
No.
For many people, a consistent routine of cleanser, moisturiser and daily sunscreen is a stronger foundation than a crowded shelf. Add a toner, serum or mask because it solves a specific problem or because you genuinely enjoy the ritual — not because a graphic on social media left an empty box.
A simple ELYVANE version
If we were building a streamlined routine from the current edit, it could look like this:
- Evening cleanse: Biodance Collagen Cleansing Oil, followed by a gentle water-based cleanser.
- Hydration: Numbuzin No.9 NAD+ PDRN Glow Boosting Toner or Biodance Collagen Gel Toner Pads.
- Treatment: one concern-led serum or eye treatment.
- Moisturiser: a texture that suits your skin, such as a refillable day cream or richer night cream.
- Weekly ritual: one Biodance hydrogel mask when you want the extra step.
- Morning non-negotiable: SPF 30+ broad-spectrum sun protection.
The point of the routine
The best Korean skincare routines are not impressive because they are long. They are good because the steps have a reason, textures layer comfortably and the routine is easy enough to repeat.
ELYVANE note
We would rather see five products used beautifully than fifteen products used anxiously. Keep the foundation simple, then let the fun products earn their place.
